The high standards of Tarmac’s Dunbar cement fleet have been recognised with a 2018 Roadworthiness Award from the Freight Transport Association (FTA). The award reflects the site’s first-class maintenance of its fleet of vehicles and trailers.
On visiting Dunbar to deliver the award this week, the FTA’s senior contract manager Eric Higham said: “I’m delighted to present the prestigious Roadworthiness Award to Dunbar Cement and Lime Logistics Operation, in recognition of the excellence it has achieved in vehicle safety and its commitment to maintaining the best standards of compliance and vehicle condition. This award reflects the very high benchmark set by Tarmac and I would like to congratulate everyone involved in making sure the fleet is safe, legal and efficient at all times.”
Terry Scott, Tarmac’s national logistics manager, added: “ Safety and Transport compliance is a key priority throughout our work, and this award can be attributed to everyone at our Dunbar site. It recognises the exceptional contribution and hard work of the whole team to maintain our excellent safety record. We are delighted to receive the prestigious safety award and are incredibly proud of the high standards that we maintain throughout our fleet.”
The FTA is the only organisation in the UK that represents all of the logistics sector, with more than 16,000 members. It also provides vehicle inspection services to organisations keen to achieve the very highest levels of safety and compliance.
